Different stars spend time in the offseason differently. Of course, when they are not sweating it out in the gym, most of them are spending time with family and friends. However, Kevin Durant, on the other hand, spends his summer clapping back at trolls on social media. Over the past few days, the Phoenix Suns superstar has been spending hours replying to various tweets. Tonight, Durant took things to a different level, as he actually spent 83 minutes in a Twitter Space trying to argue with nay-sayers.

KD is one of the best players in league history. Regarded as an offensive maestro, the Slim Reaper has an incredible resume – 1 MVP, 2 Championships, 2 Finals MVPs, 4 Scoring titles, 13 All-Star selections, and many other achievements. Despite Durant’s greatness, he has often been subjected to hate messages ever since his decision to part ways with Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors.
Since the infamous move in 2016, Durant has become the villain of the league. With detractors trying to tarnish his reputation, the Forward has resorted to social media time and again in hopes of clapping back at all the trolls.

Kevin Durant goes off on an NSFW rant in a recent Twitter Space appearance
KD recently joined a Twitter Space that was titled “Kevin Durant is not Top 5”. It seemed like the 6-foot-10 megastar was offended after not being placed in the “all-time top 5”. As seen in the clip in New York Basketball’s tweet, the 34-year-old went on an NSFW rant. Criticizing the nay-sayers for their “wack” way of perceiving the game, the 10-time All-NBA player stated:
“I just think how y’all even look at the game is wack as f**k…I just think how y’all consume the game is trash—are you good or not?…I mean, some things could be that simple – are you good or not?…These lists don’t really mean nothing anyway, so why are you getting so upset about them?”

Despite the cuss word, “Easy Money Sniper” was quite calm throughout his 83-minute appearance in the conversation. There were several people on social media who even backed the future Hall-Of-Famer for his explanations. Tweets, by @DoctorEthereum, @nijigasakilove, and @thecoachchris, are just some examples.

Seems like KD is having a tough time trying to block out all the noise. To be fair, the man has done everything to prove his greatness.
Is KD actually a top 5 player in the league right now?
In terms of greatness, Kevin Durant belongs in the category of LeBron James and Stephen Curry as the greatest players of this generation. Despite having sustained a horrific Achilles injury, KD averaged 28.8 PPG across three seasons.
However, the next generation of hoopers has taken the mantle from the three aforementioned legends. Currently, the likes of Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, and Jayson Tatum are playing better than the Suns leader.
While he might not be a top 5 player in the current NBA, knowing KD, he is capable of having an MVP-like season. With the Phoenix Suns recently acquiring Bradley Beal, it’ll be interesting to see if the Durantula can lead the franchise to their first-ever Championship.
