Quarterback Justin Fields’ future with the Chicago Bears has been nothing less than a swirl of speculations this season. Now, as the postseason is over, he has once again made headlines for his social media activity in the same context. Fields recently unfollowed the Bears on Instagram, a team that brought him to his NFL career in 2021. Consequently, his step has sparked intense speculation about his intentions and potential departure from the franchise.

The move comes at a time when the Bears are considering their options for the upcoming NFL Draft 2024. Moreover, with the No. 9 pick reserved for the Bears in 2024, rumors are circulating that they may select quarterback Caleb Williams. This uncertainty regarding the team’s quarterback situation has led to heightened tension between Fields and the franchise.

However, what has caught the attention of the NFL community is Justin Fields’ decision to follow three offensive weapons of another NFL team on Instagram. Bijan Robinson, Kyle Pitts, and Drake London have become his new social media interests, causing varied interpretations. One of the obvious ones is Fields’ transition to Atlanta with fans eagerly anticipating any further developments. Meanwhile, the Bears have yet to provide any official clarification on Fields’ social media activity or his future with the team. Also, Fields has a continued presence on Twitter, where he still follows the Bears.

With various mixed messages and rumors, the situation remains fluid and uncertain. As the speculation continues to mount, one thing is clear: Justin Fields’ social media activity has only added fuel to the fire. Thus, a flurry of reactions and suggestions followed with Atlanta being called a suitable new home for the Bears’ #1 quarterback.

Why Atlanta Falcons Present a Suitable home for Justin Fields?

As the 2024 NFL Draft approaches, the Atlanta Falcons emerge as a better destination for quarterback Justin Fields. With new hopes around Raheem Morris at the helm, the team offers both opportunity and potential for success.

The Falcons are in dire need of a franchise quarterback to lead their offense. Despite possessing a roster with playoff potential, their inconsistent quarterback play caused their elimination first amongst others in Week 18. Justin Fields, with his skill set and potential, could be the answer to their long-standing quarterback woes. Some other options could be Washington Commanders and New England Patriots, who deal with similar crises on their ends.

Despite their struggles at quarterback, the Falcons have remained competitive and narrowly missed out on the playoffs. Justin Fields would step into an offense equipped with weapons like wide receiver Calvin Ridley and tight end Kyle Pitts, providing him with the talent and support needed to thrive in the NFL. The Falcons’ offensive scheme could also fit well with Fields’ strengths, maximizing his impact on the field.

In Week 8 of the 2023 regular season, Vikings QB Kirk Cousins, faced a setback when he tore his Achilles tendon while playing against the Green Bay Packers. However, just a week before, Cousins showcased his skills with one of his best performances, leading the team to victory against the San Francisco 49ers.

His injury dashed the team’s hopes for a playoff run, but it’s clear that despite being 35 years old, Cousins still has the talent to throw over 4000 passing yards in a season and win games for his team. Mike Florio, a host on Pro Football Talk believes time is running out for the Minnesota Vikings if they want to keep their quarterback, Kirk Cousins, for the 2024 season.

Cousins signed a 1-year $35 million contract extension with the Vikings last season. Now, as the 2023 season has finally ended, the star QB is on the verge of being a free agent. Florio suggests that if the Vikings don’t act quickly to offer Cousins a new contract, they will risk losing him to other teams like the Atlanta Falcons or Pittsburgh Steelers, who might make better offers. Mike Florio stated on the Friday PFT Live,

“The Vikings are playing a dangerous game of chicken here if they want him. Maybe they don’t and they’re looking for a way to ease out of it. But if they want him, Zygi, Mark, Kevin, Kwesi, you’re going to blow it. You need to get it done now.”

Florio warns that the Vikings’ strategy of waiting to see what other teams will offer before making their own offer is risky. He stressed the fact that if they wait too long, Cousins’ agent will find out what other teams are willing to pay him during the NFL Combine which is scheduled for Feb 26 in Indianapolis.

Moreover, the PFT co-host urged the Vikings to act fast, as according to him the franchise has only 10 days left before Kirk Cousins could potentially sign with another team. However, it is also important to note that contract negotiations usually start later in February or early March, so the Vikings still have some time to make their offer. However, it is clear that other NFL teams are already interested in having Cousins as their starting quarterback.

Where Could Kirk Cousins Land in the 2024 NFL Season?

During Friday’s PFT Live, DraftKings shared the odds for Kirk Cousins’ potential team in the 2024 season. The Vikings are the favorites to retain him, with the odds of -200, however, the next favored team is the Atlanta Falcons, with odds of +300.

Following Atlanta, there is also a possibility of Cousins returning to his former team, Washington Commanders, with odds of +500. Then comes the Las Vegas Raiders at +800. The Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots both have odds of +1200, showing they are less favored options. The Pittsburgh Steelers are slightly behind, with odds of +1600.

If Kirk Cousins doesn’t stay with the Minnesota Vikings, the Atlanta Falcons could be a great option for him. Atlanta has a solid offensive team, and their offensive coordinator, Zac Robinson, could complement Cousins well. Additionally, Cousins’ wife has roots in Alpharetta, which could make Atlanta a desirable place for them to settle down.

Now that the Super Bowl fever is done and dusted, the NFL world now focuses on the pre-season draft picks and free agency. One of the biggest free agency stories this pre-season is that of Kirk Cousins. A quality quarterback is a profile that is always in high demand but often understocked in the NFL. Luckily for Cousins, his 12 years of experience and being a 4-time Pro-Bowler makes him one of the most desirable free agents this pre-season.

Cousins is a proven match-winner and is undeniably one of the safest high-money bets teams can take this season. However, the dynamics might shift a bit this time, thanks to Cousins’ Achilles tear. Because of the injury, Cousins had to miss a majority of the last season for the Vikings which hampered their prospects immensely.

However, the Michigan State alum, in his eight games last season, was simply sublime, throwing for 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions with a passer rating of 103.8. If he had continued this vein of form, he surely would have led the Vikings to challenge the Lions for the divisional championship. He also might have been in contention for the MVP. However, with the injury, plans derailed. Now it remains to be seen how the 35-year-old QB makes his return.

Nonetheless, Cousins remains a terrific option and justifies being the highest-paid free agent in 2024. But now the question is, where does he go from here? The Vikings have an 11th-draft pick. They also have Justin Jefferson lining up for a contract extension. Amidst these circumstances, NFL analyst Mina Kimes opines that the Las Vegas Raiders should try convincing Cousins to join them.

With the Raiders now expected to cut off Jimmy Garoppolo amidst his doping suspension, injury, and performance issues, among others, Cousins is a direct upgrade, opined Kimes.

“You start considering options not only in the draft but also in free agency. Specifically, Kirk Cousins, who is a free agent. Most people agree that he is going to be probably the highest-paid free-agent quarterback,” Kimes said, “There is certainly a possibility of a return to Minnesota, but if the Raiders were open to take a swing on him, I think they’d be able to afford his contract… I think it’s a good destination.”

Cousins to Raiders is certainly an interesting proposition. Unfortunately for Mina, the majority of Raiders fans disagreed with her reasoning and were quick to voice their two cents. While some felt Cousins’s timing-based offense didn’t fit HC Antonio Pierce’s vertical passing offense, others questioned his cost and age factor.

A small section of fans however did show excitement for Cousins to the Raiders.

While the Raiders make up for an interesting destination for Cousins, Mike Florio believes that Cousins is looking for a spot in either the Steelers or the Falcons.

Mike Florio Suggests Steelers Is a Possible Landing Spot for Kirk Cousins

While one insider proposed the Raiders, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio suggested, based on his insider information, that Cousins’ camp is waiting for a call from the Falcons and Steelers. Florio, in fact, revealed that the Steelers know this and are thus seriously considering making a move for the 35-year-old QB. Florio said,

“I was talking to some people last week who seem to be intrigued at the possibility of the Steelers making a play for Kirk Cousins. And those people were very to if not within the Kirk Cousins camp,” followed by, “There’s an acknowledgment that it could happen. The Falcons and the Steelers are the two teams that I think the Cousins camp is keeping an eye on.”

After Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers Nation expected Kenny Pickett to be the long-term replacement for the legendary Ben. However, as evident from last season, Pickett is far from being an able replacement. This has led to the QB dilemma at Pittsburgh, one to look out for this pre-season.

While Justin Fields has been linked with the Steelers as well, Kirk Cousins is undeniably the superior option. But if the Blitzburgh were to make a move for Cousins, their biggest challenge would be money. The Steelers are currently $16 million over the salary cap, as per the Athletic. Thus, in order to accommodate Cousins, the Steelers will have to make room. Will Kirk end up joining the Steelers? Looks unlikely for now, but you never say never in sports.

Seven years ago, Katie Sowers emerged as the first female coach in the NFL, which is widely believed to be a male-dominated landscape. She also became the first openly gay coach but also the first female coach to grace the Super Bowl stage. Despite the many wonders, Sowers has now found herself demoted from the NFL.

Currently, Sowers has transitioned to a role in collegiate athletics, serving as the Assistant Coach for the Women’s Flag Football team at Ottawa University in Kansas. Embracing her passion for coaching and empowering in sports, Sowers is making a meaningful impact with inclusion as her selling proposition. However, she chose to return to the grassroots level where she also became the director of athletic strategic initiatives.

In addition to her coaching roles, Katie Sowers advocates women’s flag football and promotes its recognition as a legitimate sport. As the director of strategic initiatives for women’s flag football at Ottawa University, she champions the cause of gender equality.

“Women can actually strive to help get their education paid for, and get out there and potentially become an Olympic athlete,” she said in an interview with Scripps News.

Her advocacy for women in sports has led her to make strong arguments to help women realize their strengths. ‘You play like a girl is a compliment’ has been her motto over the years. She feels the comparison shouldn’t be used with a negative connotation. However, her journey has been more inspiring than her words, exemplifying her prophecy.

Katie Sowers: NFL Journey Before Empowering Women in Flag Football

Katie Sowers, the first female NFL coach etched her name in history with her journey from intern to full-time assistant coach. Her remarkable career spanned multiple teams, including Atlanta Falcons and the latest Super Bowl opponents Niners and Chiefs.

Katie Sowers began her time at the San Francisco 49ers offensive coaching staff under Bill Walsh’s Diversity Coaching Fellowship. This paved the way for diversity and inclusion in football, gaining immense fame with her achievements. Initially serving as a seasonal intern, Sowers’ exceptional coaching acumen earned her a promotion to a full-time offensive assistant role. Her tenure with the 49ers reached its zenith after they clinched the NFC Championship, securing a Super Bowl LIV spot. This historic achievement made Sowers steal spotlights all over the nation.

After her impactful stint with the 49ers, Sowers continued her coaching journey, bringing her expertise to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021. She became an offensive analyst with Andy Reid at the helm. Her Super Bowl journeys comprised both the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Katie Sowers’ journey in the NFL is not just a shout-out to her coaching skills but also hope for many who might be restricted in spite of their love of football.

Arthur Smith, the recently dismissed head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, has been hired as the offensive coordinator for the Steelers. The former Titans OC faced termination after his third successive 7-10 seasons with the Falcons, with criticism stemming from his perceived desire to maximize the potential of players like Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson. Despite this, Smith still got the nod as the Steelers OC.

In his first interview after acquiring the new role, Smith discussed the fresh opportunity, what he brings to the table, his experiences with various QBs, and his expectations for Kenny Pickett moving forward. Interestingly, the Steelers OC refrained from mentioning Mason Rudolph in the entire 7-minute and 38-second interview, although Rudolph played a crucial role in securing a playoff berth for the team.

It appears that Smith and the Steelers have made up their minds about Rudolph. As Rudolph approaches free agency, Art Rooney 2 has since expressed the desire to retain him, albeit in a backup QB role, leading to all sorts of speculations about Rudolph looking for opportunities elsewhere.

This omission might suggest Rudolph doesn’t align with Smith’s offensive philosophy. Smith prefers QBs with athleticism who can contribute to his rushing offense. He seeks shot-callers who can seamlessly integrate into his near zone scheme, a set of qualities that Rudolph doesn’t possess. Rudolph tends to prefer staying in the pocket and taking his time, a style that may not align with Smith’s vision for the team.

Known for his ability to adapt his offenses to the strengths of the player while maintaining a distinct identity, Smith advocates for a physical style of offense, explosive plays, and a focus on situational football, particularly scoring in the red zone. Given the Steelers’ youthful roster and Smith’s history with QBs like Tannehill and Matt Ryan, he might anticipate Pickett to be efficient, and release the ball quickly to playmakers, and prioritize ball security.

To unlock Kenny’s full potential, Arthur emphasizes the need to establish a rapport and trust between the QB and his new play-caller. He said,

“Certainly our offences have adapted to the strengths of our players but there’s a certain identity we want to have. Any offence I have been a part of, it’s going to be a physical brand. You want to win at the line of scrimmage but it’s also about playing the strengths, trying to create explosives. When I have a very smart unit because it’s going to come down to situational football in the NFL.”

Smith has been criticized for his record as HC in Atlanta. The team went 7-10 and failed to get the best out of their recent draft picks, such as Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts. However, as the Titans OC for two seasons, 2019 and 2020, Smith made them one of the best in the league, ranking first or second in multiple categories. They were 1st in 50+ yards pass plays and 2nd in overall offense, rushing offense, yards per carry, red zone efficiency, and 5th in third-down conversion rate, as per Steelers.com.

Their offense averaged 2.86 points/drive in 2020, which led the NFL and they scored TDs in 36% of their drives. Henry rushed for 2,027 yards in 2020 and Tannehill gave a CPOY performance in 2019.

Despite coming off the back of another 7-10 season, there is a wave of optimism around his hiring. Steelers Nation feels he is the right man for the job given his record as an offensive coordinator, and he will prove the doubters wrong.

Arthur Smith Gets Surprising Support from Steelers Nation

Three poor seasons with the Falcons didn’t deter the Steelers and Mike Tomlin from hiring Arthur Smith as their offensive play-caller and it looks like fans agree with the assessment. Fans are rallying behind their new OC. They asserted that given how he nailed his first interview, and how passionately he is talking about the offense, he seems like a perfect fit. Fans are willing to give him their support and patience, especially after suffering through Matt Canada. Take a look:

Fans wrote,

Others stated,

The Steelers showcased one of the worst offenses in the league 2023-24 season, ranking 25th with only 304 yards of total offense, averaging less than 18 points per game. Their offensive weakness nearly cost them a place in the playoffs, as per Fox Sports.

However, they do have exciting young talents in players like Pickens, Najee Harris, Pat Freiermuth, Jaylen Warren, etc. Despite this, given the contemporary emphasis on quarterback-driven games and offenses, Smith will need to extract the best performances from Pickett. Tomlin and the Rooney family still regard Pickett as their QB1, despite criticism.

As of now, it doesn’t appear that they are inclined to draft a new QB, so the former Falcons HC might need to do his best work with the talent he has inherited.

Stephen A. Smith, the renowned sports commentator, recently voiced strong opinions on NFL coaching dynamics, particularly focusing on Bill Belichick. Smith argued passionately that teams like the Dallas Cowboys and the Atlanta Falcons missed a significant opportunity by not aggressively pursuing Belichick for their head coaching vacancies.

The sportscaster pointed out the internal chaos within the Cowboys organization, suggesting that Belichick’s leadership could have been a stabilizing force. He extended this argument to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons, emphasizing that the latter should have been particularly eager to court Belichick. He mentioned, “If you’re the Atlanta Falcons, you should be rolling out the red carpet; you should be getting on your knees and begging Bill Belichick to come, so why hasn’t that happened?”

Smith zeroes in on a major factor that could be making teams think twice: Belichick’s call to split with Tom Brady. He also mentioned that Robert Kraft believed that he could persuade the star QB to stay; however, Belichick had a different perspective. It only became worse when TB12 went on to clinch a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay. In Smith’s view, this might be the main reason for teams to pause and reconsider Belichick’s talent.

Notably, there are only a few franchises left that Belichick can call home. With the Atlanta Falcons reportedly closing in on Raheem Morris as their new head coach, the landscape for the former Patriots head coach narrows significantly.

Where Could Bill Belichick Land Next?

As of January 26th, only a couple of teams are still on the hunt for a head coach. However, the Washington Commanders, despite their attractive setup under Josh Harris and Adam Peters, seem uninterested in Belichick. The Seattle Seahawks, another potential suitor, face the peculiar situation of replacing a 72-year-old coach with Belichick, who is 71. While Seattle’s team composition is appealing, their lack of urgency in choosing a new coach suggests they might not be banking on Belichick either, as per CBS Sports.

Returning to the AFC East presents an interesting scenario. The New York Jets, despite their struggles, seem to be sticking with Robert Saleh. The Buffalo Bills, on the other hand, might be an intriguing option. Their repeated playoff disappointments under Sean McDermott could open a window for Belichick, especially with the allure of him facing his former team twice a year.

Stephen A. Smith’s evaluation presents a nuanced view of the NFL’s coaching landscape. While Belichick’s achievements are undeniable, his choices, especially regarding Tom Brady, may additionally have inadvertently impacted his role as a head coach candidate. Moreover, if he has to sit out the 2024 season, the six-time Super Bowl-winning coach will emerge as a top prospect in the following season.

In January, the sudden dismissal of Mike Vrabel from the Tennessee Titans left everyone in shock. Fans and critics alike speculated whether the team’s performance or internal conflicts led to his departure. Amid the uncertainty, Vrabel was always honest with his special coaching style, which aimed to make football fun by boosting excitement and cheering on his players.

A video from last year’s Titans’ rookie minicamp featuring Mike Vrabel‘s coaching has since gone viral, which highlights why he is considered one of the top head coaches in the NFL. In the video, he gives players a chance even when they make mistakes, telling them to “go figure out a way to make it right.”

Vrabel encourages rookies to trust their natural skills and instincts in the game. When he shouts, “Sell the play, make them believe it’s gonna work,” it shows how he values teamwork and building trust among the players. Plus, he keeps things easygoing by saying, “You don’t have to call me sir.” It’s all about making football enjoyable and building a strong team bond.

Vrabel’s coaching style has worked wonders for the Tennessee Titans. In his six seasons with the team, Mike Vrabel led them to four successful winning seasons. They made three playoff appearances, including one AFC Championship game, two AFC Wild Card games, and two Divisional Round games. Moreover, he has a 54-45 winning record with the team.

The highlight was the 2021 season, when the Titans were a dominant force, entering the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the AFC with a 12-5 record. Although they reached the Conference Championship, they lost to the Chiefs 35-24. Since then, the team hasn’t bounced back, facing losing records in the next two seasons.

After the recent decision to fire Mike Vrabel, Titans GM Ran Carthon faced reporters, sparking speculation of a power struggle with Vrabel. It’s known that Vrabel wanted Ryan Cowden as GM after the 2022 season, but Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk chose Carthon instead.

However, Carthon clarified in the presser that he wasn’t present during the firing decision, emphasizing that it was Strunk’s choice alone. Criticism arose as the GM announced Vrabel’s firing. Critics believed Strunk should have personally made the announcement or at least been present during the press conference, considering it was entirely her decision.

Sunday Night Football’s host Mike Florio believes the Titans made a big mistake by letting go of their head coach. According to Florio, Vrabel is one of the best in the league, and if the team isn’t happy with him, they might struggle with other great head coaches too.

In order to improve, the Titans need to focus on bringing in new talents for a stronger team. It’s not just about coaching, as Vrabel achieved wins even with a 17th-ranked defense and 28th-ranked offense this season. The success of the next head coach will simply rely on key players who can execute the coach’s vision effectively.

Mike Vrabel is Seeking a New Home in the NFL

Despite the setback, Mike Vrabel has a series of interviews scheduled with NFL teams. This season, eight head coaches were let go, with three departures before the 2023 regular season concluded and five more recently. With numerous teams on the lookout for head coaches, Vrabel is currently on a busy schedule, traveling to various cities for interviews scheduled by NFL teams.

The latest report mentions that Vrabel has just settled into a hotel in uptown Charlotte, gearing up for an interview with the Carolina Panthers scheduled for tomorrow. The Panthers, having faced a tough season, said goodbye to Frank Reich on Nov. 27. As they aim to make changes, Vrabel must be a top choice for the organization, especially as they have a promising QB, Bryce Young, and are looking to make a strong comeback next season.

Adding to that, Vrabel has wrapped up interviews with the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Chargers. However, news is in that the Chargers have already picked their new head coach, and it’s not Mike Vrabel. Instead, they’ve chosen Jim Harbaugh, the head coach from Michigan, who’s making a return to the NFL after nine years.

Mike Vrabel is on a quest to become a coaching legend, much like he was as one of the top linebackers in the NFL. His pro football journey began when the star linebacker was drafted by the Steelers in the 3rd round in 1997. In his 14-year stint, the Pro Bowler LB also played for the Patriots and the Chiefs.

Even though he hasn’t won a Super Bowl as a head coach yet, Vrabel has a remarkable track record as a three-time Super Bowl champion with the New England Patriots in 2002, 2004, and 2005. In his linebacker days, he started in 140 of 206 games, recording 740 tackles, 57.0 sacks, 19 forced fumbles, and 9 fumbles recovered.

Bill Belichick bid goodbye to the New England Patriots after a difficult season, full of rumors of his transition. His next landing destination is widely believed to be Atlanta, where the Falcons are awaiting a change at their helm. However, amidst the recruitment, an unforeseen resistance has emerged at the Atlanta Falcons front office which might cause a hurdle.

The Atlanta Falcons saw a disappointing end to their season a fortnight ago with the incumbent head coach Arthur Smith being fired. Before the Divisional Round, the Falcons have been conducting virtual interviews to fill the position as per the NFL rules. Amongst the contenders is Bill Belichick, who has already gone through two rounds of interviews with the team but now faces an unexpected roadblock. Reportedly, the front office wants team owner Arthur Blank to look the other way, which was highlighted by Bill Simmons.

“The people that run the franchise, they just want to keep their jobs, they’re in job preservation mode, so they’re like Maybe we hire Raheem Morris.

As presumed, the 71-year-old former Patriots coach has many options with seven head coach openings in the NFL. As a result SI reported that Belichick flew to Atlanta in Arthur Blank’s private jet being the ‘top candidate’ for the Falcons’s helm. That being said, Bill Belichick is believed to follow the ‘Patriot Way’ and a straightforward style. This has now led his return to the NFL under Atlanta Falcons in question. In an attempt to balance excellence and flexibility, the Falcons have continued to explore their options.

Bill Belichick Claimed to be ‘Top Candidate’ Amongst Other Options for Atlanta Falcons Head Coach

The Falcons have interviewed other coaches including Raheem Morris, the current defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. The other names aside from Bill Belichick are Bengals OC Brian Callahan, 49ers DC Steve Wilks, Panthers DC Ejiro Evero, CFB National Champion Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh, Eagles OC Brian Johnson, Lions DC Aaron Glenn, Lions OC Ben Johnson, and Texans OC Bobby Slowik.

The Falcons have also interviewed potential suitors from top NFL pool including the AFC East leaders Buffalo Bills Interim OC Joe Brady. Names from the Ravens who are set to host the Chiefs for the AFC Championship include Assistant HC Anthony Weaver and DC Mike Macdonald.

However, Bill Belichick with his 27 years of experience as a head coach is being clocked in the NFL market. Consequently, the Los Angeles Chargers with Justin Herbert to mold might also be a great destination for Belichick. The Chargers seem ready for the offensive success but ownership and salary cap may be potential hurdles.

The Washington Commanders offer good salary-cap space and the No.2 overall pick, presenting a project in making for Belichick. Finally, the Dallas Cowboys with a skilled roster and an unextended contract for Mike McCarthy is another option. But with the 2024 reserved for McCarthy, a gig like NFL analyst presents a port-of-call. As the teams and names weigh options, NFL fans eagerly anticipate an exciting Super Bowl and the upcoming season ahead.

Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft recently shocked the NFL world after announcing their split after 24 long years of making the New England Patriots an untouched legacy. However, as Rob Gronkowski pointed out, it seems the most successful HC in the NFL is looking for redemption.

While Belichick was parting ways with the Patriots, one thing was clear that he was not yet done with coaching. And since the eight-time Super Bowl champion coach hit the market, there was a clear indication that teams would not let the opportunity go in vain. Which is something that came to be true.

Before the Packers vs Cowboys Wild Card Round bout, Rob Gronkowski during the Fox Sports Pre-Game show made quite a revelation in the ongoing saga of Bill Belichick’s job hunt. He named one specific team that is in hot pursuit to sign the legendary head coach before the 2024 season.

“He’s coming back with vengeance,” said Gronk. “And I’ve been hearing on the streets the Atlanta Falcons are coming in hot for Coach Belichick.”

Atlanta Falcons Not the Only Team Linked To Bill Belichick

After firing Arthur Smith from the head coaching role earlier in January, the franchise has doubled down in its search to find a quick and stable replacement that could take the team to new heights.

The Falcons have a long list of candidates waiting to be interviewed for the role which also includes Raiders interim HC Antonio Pierce, Panthers DC Ejiro Evero, Lions OC Ben Johnson, and a few more. However, it seems the legendary HC Bill Belichick is one of the unspoken candidates emerging from the list.

Interestingly, the Falcons isn’t the only team that is getting linked to Bill Belichick. With the Cowboys showing early signs of a playoff choke against the Packers, football fans were already imagining Jerry Jones calling up the former Patriots HC to replace Mike McCarthy.

Even Pat McAfee responded to it by tweeting, “Holy shit… Bill Belichick is gonna be the head coach of the Cowboys isn’t he?”

With Bill Belichick being the best defensive head coach in the NFL, his linkup with both, the Falcons and the Cowboys make perfect sense. However, it will be seen which team he ends up signing a contract with. Not to mention that he is set to receive 68,000 a day for this upcoming season from the Patriots for not coaching.

Jerod Mayo’s elevation from Inside Linebacker coach to Head coach marks the conclusion of the Bill Belichick era in New England. Mayo, a former Patriots player, has been an integral part of the franchise since 2008, experiencing everything from witnessing two Super Bowl wins to even Tom Brady’s departure. Recently, a couple of amusing clips from Jerod’s rookie year went viral, throwing light on the otherwise reserved personality of Bill Belichick.

These clips reveal that the Patriots’ new head coach is quite a truck aficionado. In the first clip, Bill inquires with Jerod’s teammates about the latter’s seemingly conservative nature and questions why he hasn’t brought anything new since he became an NFL player. As it turns out, much to Belichick’s surprise, the rookie linebacker had already brought two trucks and even had plans for yet another.

The eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach went on to ask Mayo’s teammates why he needed three trucks. He quipped, “You never know when his first two might break down, so he needs a third one?” Hall of Famer receiver Randy Moss humorously chimed in, attributing the trucks to Mayo’s rookie signing bonus.

In the 2nd clip, upon learning about Mayo’s intentions to buy another truck, Belichick offers to hook him up with a Volvo, as the now-former head coach went to college with the owner of the company. Despite appreciating his coach’s gesture, Jerod declines the offer of a Volvo. Bill, in a light-hearted manner, expressed that he was only looking out for him.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first instance when Mayo showcased his love for trucks. He once attended a Monster Jam Trucks festival with his former teammate Vince Wilfork, as per Patriots.com. With a joyful smile, he can be seen posing both inside and outside of several giant trucks.

Mayo’s transition from assistant coach to head coach of one of the biggest franchises in NFL history — happened without any grudges or ill will, as he received the full blessings of Bill and Robert Kraft.

Bill Belichick’s Exit and Jared Mayo’s Takeover are Warmer Than Most Thought

Jared Mayo received the keys to the Patriots kingdom shortly after Belichick and Kraft themselves broke the news of the veteran head coach’s mutual parting of ways from Foxborough. Many felt that Belichick wouldn’t leave so easily and that it would lead to some sort of friction and fracture in the relationship between the organization and its most successful coach.

The media expected things to get ugly as they felt that stubborn Bill would refuse to give up his power or work with Kraft to find an elegant solution. But as it turns out, much to everyone’s surprise, Bill was the bigger man and agreed to depart the franchise, which he coached and managed for the past 24 years.

During the farewell presser, Belichick even lightened the tension in the room by quipping that he hasn’t encountered so many cameras since the Patriots signed Tim Tebow. Then, Belichick shared that he and the franchise have mutually agreed to part ways. Expressing gratitude for the opportunity afforded to him by the Kraft family, Bill reflected upon the shared vision that they successfully implemented over the past two decades, leading to their achievements and success.

It’s no secret that Bill Belichick is one of the greatest coaches of all time and with his resume, he won’t be sitting idle for long. The league has seen so many vacancies after Black Friday that it’s only a matter of time before a franchise comes calling for the eight-time SB-winning coach.

A few of those franchises, that have been linked to Belichick, are the Atlanta Falcons, the Chargers, the Commanders, the Seahawks, etc. The Dirty Birds had a disastrous season last year, and they even recently fired their head coach, Arthur Smith. Therefore, it could be a perfect place for Belichick. As for the Chargers, they have a pretty good young QB in Justin Herbert and a good offense, as per Fox Sports. With a defensive mind like Belichick at the helm, they could become quite the playoff contender next season.

Moreover, the Seahawks recently parted ways with their longtime coach, Pete Carroll. This team also had a ruthless offensive unit with players like Geno Smith, DK Metcalf, and Jackson-Smith Njigba. Belichick could also be a very good choice for the Hawks.

Having achieved everything as a coach, Bill could also become an analyst, as there is hardly anyone who possesses more knowledge about the game than a man with nearly half a century of coaching experience. For now, the future is all but uncertain, and it will surely be interesting to see how it all unfolds.
