Brittney Griner has returned to the United States after spending more than ten months in detention in Russia on alleged narcotics charges. This is good news for Americans and basketball lovers in particular. All of this has, however, come at a price.

The WNBA star was swapped for the international arms dealer Viktor Bout, who was serving in the US prison. Thus, the trade has received a lot of reactions even from the UFC world. One of the fighters who reacted was the former UFC middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa. However, his reaction was a rather unusual one.

What did Paulo Costa say about Brittney Griner and Viktor Bout?

As the negotiations were completed, American president Joe Biden celebrated Griner’s freedom by posting on his official Twitter account. In the post, Biden can be seen celebrating in his office. In the caption of his post, the POTUS wrote, “Moments ago, I spoke to Brittney Griner. She is safe, she is on a plane. She is on her way home.”

While reacting to Biden’s post, Costa posted a series of pictures, including Biden and Bout. In the caption he wrote, “Putin trade Viktor Bout (lord of war) for a WNBA caught with marijuana oil. Lol Well , at least they booth can shoot now.”

It was clear that the Brazilian star was mocking President Biden. However, this is not the only time Costa has done it. He has previously made fun of the POTUS several times on his Twitter.

Paulo Costa’s next fight

The Brazilian middleweight star is on a quest to map his way back to the middleweight title. He has already returned to his winning ways by defeating a former champion at UFC 278.
